Wildlife expert Ray Mears goes on a journey across Great Britain, uncovering some of nature’s finest habitats and revealing the hidden world of wildlife that lives just beyond our doorstep. In this episode, Ray heads to East Anglia to explore one of the UK’s least-known habitats – the Breckland. The area boasts the hottest summers and coldest winters in the country and is home to an abundance of exciting wildlife including brown hares, the rare stone curlew and the noisy pool frog, which until recently was extinct in Britain. Ray also ventures below ground to explore an ancient flint mine where he discovers a red deer antler that has been there since the Stone Age.
